All retrogrades bring a “reconsideration” or other words that start with the prefix “re” in the matters of the sign and house the planet is transiting through. Retrogrades bring a focus inward and to the past as it relates to the present and future. It is a time when going back over things is a prominent theme. I always think of the Earthworm card from the Ted Andrew’s Animal Wise Tarot Card Deck when it is retrograde time. He talks about how the earthworm goes back over dirt making it fine and fertile soil. It is this going back over things that sets one up for fertile future experiences in the area of life being re-examined.
The retrograde transits bring planetary “opportunities” to strengthen weak links and set up stronger points of attraction for more enriching experiences. Often these “opportunities” come through some form of crisis, as they are often neglected for a long time and in a big way so Spirit needs to bring awareness in a way that sticks.
It is very important to note that although reexamination of major issues is common and indicated at this time, actually MAKING LIFE-CHANGING DECISIONS is not. More information will come throughout the transit so to take one moments insight and take action on it would likely be premature, as the retrograde promises we aren’t necessarily seeing clearly or all angles of an issue, especially on topics of love, beauty, and money.
Assessing, researching, working in the backdrop, experimenting without long commitment for things with low stakes, and in general “staying the course” during the revaluation is usually what is best indicated.

Scorpio/the 8th house rules “other people’s money” so when Venus is retrograde in this house or sign money or resources such as inheritances, family money/resources, marriage or partnership money/resources, lotto/sweepstakes/other winnings, venture capital funding, loans or financial gifts of any kinds, credit cards, stocks, and anything like all these are more likely to come up as a hot topic.
It is a great time to look for money/financing from connections in the past. It is also a great time to consolidate, manage, or pay off debt.
Past romantic interests are very likely to return, as are issues in marriage or intimacy. Deep intimacy work could be done at this time.
Making money from or a return to a fanatical interest in Scorpio-related things that are tied to ones past experience or interest such as psychology, mystery, research, esoteric topics, astrology, ancient wisdom/tools all have an increased chance in showing up.
Some questions you can proactively address during or that may naturally come up during Venus retrograde through Scorpio/the 8th house:
How can I add more substance to my life?
How can I connect in with powerful partners and create synergistic outcomes with our combined resources and efforts?
How can I PAY OFF/ MANAGE DEBT? Being smart with money is a big theme at this time.

~ Individual and couple counseling is a GREAT way to use this energy.
~ Re-exploring previous romantic or financial relationship without a commitment if possible, more like a “trying on” to see if anything has shifted.
~ Deep spiritual work of any kind (alone or with a person you feel very connecting to)
~ Studying or participating in anything involving mysteries, research, astrology, psychology, parapsychology, numerology, Human Design, Tarot (and any other divination or psychological tools) - especially with ones partner or intending as a means to create a career with any of these things in the future.
~ Connecting to one’s angels and other guides (including Fairies and other Elementals) - especially as it relates to creating a career out out of doing this work in the future.
~ Tantric studies (for personal or professional use).
~ Doing things to help the magic return to current relationships.
